Room Translation: I Love Eclectic

Happy Friday!  :-)

I'm here, of course, with another Room Translation for ya.  Get excited, people!

I love this space!  It's mis-matchy, it's fun, and best of all, it works, fiercely!  I mean, this room is to-die-for.  That gold mirror really stands out to me when I look at this photo, and of course that glorious rug.  Plus all of the beautifully-styled accents; I mean, I am in.heaven!  ;-)  And now, the translation...

Eclectic

Settee -- Burke Decor
Mirror -- Layla Grayce
Table Lamp -- Scully & Scully
Pillow -- The Future Perfect
Rug -- Farsinet

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!  Sending lots of love your way!

What is your favorite part of this room?  Are you a sucker for eclectic style, like me?

Brass Beds

There's something so cozy about a brass bed, don't you think?  My favorite is when one of these beds is implemented into a cabin room...just lovely.  Full of charm, shine, and do I even have to mention that beautiful warm color...brass beds are my friend.  The following pictures are of said brass beds that I would like to become my new friends.  Because one can never have too many friends, right?

Nice and coastal -- wouldn't this be a lovely twin boys' room?  *Dreaming here*  ;-)

Loving all of the other brass accents in the room.

Bold colors in this room match up to the warmth of the brass.

Lots of glitz here!

What a pretty frame.  And are you loving the complementary light fixture above?

What would be your go-to way to style a brass bed frame?  Cottage-y?  Modern with a bit of vintage flare?  Let me know!

Room Translation: Sitting Area

Hey there, friends!  Happy Friday to you!  :-)

Today, as per usual these past few weeks, I've got another Room Translation for you.  This one's inspiration comes from a blog that I love and gives me such inspiration.  I consider it a daily read, and I'm so excited to share the room with you and pull out my favorite pieces!

I'm sure you are all familiar with Cassie from Hi Sugarplum!, but if you're not, I highly advise you to head on over to her beautiful blog to see all of the fun projects she is up to -- and be ready to get inspired!  Her taste is completely impeccable, always.  I love her mix of patterns and textures, just go take a look at her lovely House Tour and you will be in awe, I'm tellin' you!  Anyway, here is my translation!

Sitting Area

Lamp - Inside Avenue
Chair - Crate and Barrel
Side Table - Occa-Home
Ottoman - Crate and Barrel
Throw Pillow - Zazzle
Blanket - J. Crew
Framed Art - Ethan Allen

What's your favorite element of this room?

If you would like to see some more Room Translations from past weeks...

Enjoy!!

Pink and Gray

There are certain color combinations that I am just drawn to, and a pink + gray color palette is one of them!  My personal favorite way these colors are used is in a little girls' nursery.  However, if you twist my arm just enough, I may allow some pink + gray in my bedroom with some brass accents.  Maybe.  ;-)  I like these colors best when kept white in order to maintain an airy feel; but darker variations of this palette can be beautiful, and I love to ogle at those from afar.

I just want to climb onto that sofa and snuggle up!

Oh, sweet monograms!

Some Greek key and silhouette additions -- gotta love it!

Very interesting conversational set-up goin' on in this room!

Loving this office.  If you haven't checked out the Centsational Girl blog, you should take this moment to do so -- amazing!

How do you like this color palette?  Dark?  Light?  In a nursery?  In a living room?

Lucite Furniture Love

Good morning, friends!  Happy Monday to you!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  :-)

Today, I'm talking lucite furniture.  Oh, yeah -- get excited!  :-)  I really love the look of lucite and how it adds such modern flair to a room while occupying very little space, because it is see-through, after all.  So, I thought I'd gather up some of my favorite lucite furniture inspiration photos and share them with you today!

I think this office makes quite the statement!

Pretty little corner, complete with a lucite console table -- don't you just love it?

A lovely styled lucite shelf -- in a bathroom, no less.  Glamming it up!  ;-)

Expertly-styled lucite coffee table with gold accents.  *Dies*

Pretty little dining area.  Don't you just love the mix of the lucite chairs and that sweet crystal chandelier?

If you're really lucky, like Kristin of The Hunted Interior's daughter, your mama will buy you your own, petite-sized (and pink!) ghost chair.  How is that for fun?  ;-)

How would you style your very own lucite furniture?  Would you want a coffee table?  Kitchen bar stools?  A desk?

Poufs Galore!

Hey there, friends!  Happy Saturday to you.  :-)  I hope this finds you all well and enjoying your weekend.

Poufs are not only super comfortable, but they are also incredibly cute!  I love the awesome character they can add to a room, and it is my hope to someday have a sweet little collection of all of the poufs of my choice.  But for now, I must settle for looking at preeety pictures (*sigh*).  Thank goodness I love finding inspiration that way though, right?  ;-)

It appears as though I am super into the whole tribal thing right now -- kind of fun!  ;-)

Which pouf is your favorite?  Where would you put it in your home?

Room Translation: Gettin' Woodsy

Hey, there!  Well, we made it to Friday!  Yippee!  :-)  I hope you all have some really fun things planned for the weekend.  Let's all enjoy this first weekend of November!

I'm bringin' you another Room Translation today!  This room completely reminds me of a cabin in the woods - no, not the scary movie kind -- the beautiful kind!  The kind with a patterned daybed, a cozy-under-your-feet rug, and a faux moose head.  As my husband would say: "That's America to me."  ;-)

Here's the translation...

Woodsy!

Rug  -  Moose Head  -  Throw  -  Daybed  -  Coffee Table

What's your favorite part of this room?

maria

Maria Morley Designs

Hey, there!  :-)  I thought that I would update you all on some spaces that I've been designing -- a couple for e-mail clients, and the rest just for fun!  Every now and again, I will post some projects that I am doing so that if any of you are interested in hiring me for a consultation or mood board (among other things), I can sort of showcase for you what I am capable of.  At some point this month, I will be posting a tab page with all of the services that I can offer you.  I'll let you all know when I do that!

I enjoy working within any budget, and I feel that it is very important that I stress that interior design does not have to be a luxury that only certain people can afford.  Erin Gates has been a huge inspiration for me because this is her view, as well.  Everyone should be able to feel that they love their home, and it is my job to facilitate that transition from liking your home, to loving your home.  And it is my pleasure to do so!

Entry

Coastal Bathroom

Little Girls' Study Room

'Happy Chic'

If you haven't read Jonathan Adler's 10 Commandment's For a Happy Chic Home, click on the link and do so now.  You'll get a kick out of it.  ;-)  Adler's commandments include things like embracing "maximalism," buying an x-bench, and "mixing fancy with frisky."  He also points the finger at several designers throughout history who are the epitome of the happy chic home (commandment number 6).  Mr. Adler promises that if you follow these rules, you will have no need to "covet thy neighbor's house" -- you will truly love your very own.  (Isn't he the best?)

Ladies and gentleman, I give you happy chic...

What do you think of Happy Chic?  Are you a fan?
